Water and Water Bill Saving Tips

Sewer bills are based on the amount of water you use. So, here are some tips to help reduce your sewer bill and conserve water.
  • Adjust your sprinklers so they only water lawn and landscaped areas. Avoid allowing water to get onto sidewalks, driveways and streets.
  • Water the lawn early in the morning to minimize evaporation and to help prevent lawn disease.
  • If you use irrigation systems, take advantage of Ag Meters to reduce sewer bills. Customers that have Ag Meters are not charged on their sewer bill for water used to irrigate.
  • Pool filling - When a customer plans to fill a pool FPB requires a $25 service charge and a minimum of 7,500 gallons of water to be billed.  The customers MUST call before they fill their pools in order to avoid sewer charges for the water.
  • Rain barrel use is another alternative to minimize water use in the summer months on the lawn and landscaping.
